Gene Martino, Jr.
Gene Martino, Jr is the Pastor of Lafayette Methodist Church, having been in ministry since 1979. He and his High School Sweetheart and Bride of 43 years, Becky, live on their 50-acre farm north of Westmoreland with a veritable menagerie. Becky recently retired after a long career as a Labor and Delivery Nurse. Their family lived in Germany three years while Becky was in the United States Air Force. While in Germany he worked at the various Base Chapels leading music in worship and taught at the Base High School where he was the Drama Instructor. The Bitburg Bards did their first ever musical, “Camelot”, did several plays and even did a community wide performance of “Fiddler on the Roof” under his direction. Gene also studied voice with Mr. Michael Rhodes of Trier, Germany, singing in Operas, Recitals, Concerts, and Theaters. They have two adult children: Their daughter, Sarah works as the Director of Program Quality at Nashville Adult Literacy Council. Their son, Louis, a former Sergeant in the USMC lives in Nashville where he is currently a Detective in the Metro Nashville Police Department. Gene is a Champion Jouster and member of the Freelancers Joust where he also serves as the Chaplain. He is a hobby bladesmith and metal worker.
